the documentary short

Directed by Trey Anthony, produced by Carys Lewis.
Beginning in the 1970's, post-industrialised countries like Canada and the US were in high need of semi-skilled labor. This caused a movement of working-class African Caribbean women from the anglophone Caribbean to migrate in search for a better life. As a result, these brave women not only faced the difficulties of migrating, working and re-settling, but had to cope with the emotional and psychological impact of being separated from their children for long periods of time. WHEN BLACK MOTHER'S DON’T SAY I LOVE YOU is a film about their stories.
Funded by TD Canada Trust.
